About Laurent Duperval

Laurent is a geek with a difference: you can understand him when he speaks!

His consulting firm specializes in helping leaders and IT professionals improve communication to dramatically improve their results.

Laurent Duperval has worked in the IT world for more than 15 years. He has been employed as programmer, analyst, team leader, trainer and technical author. These various roles have allowed him to appreciate and understand the various communication issues in the enterprise.

During that time, he invested as much time and money to improve his interpersonal skills as he did his technical skills. This enabled him to understand the breakdown that occurs when executives and management try to get through to technically-savvy individuals, who may not have a good grasp of business issues.

He has helped professionals from varying technical backgrounds, find their voice and improve their communication and leadership abilities, through improved public speaking and interpersonal skills. This has helped them be better understood by their employer and has increased their value to the company.

Laurent Duperval has published articles, a blog and an electronic newsletter on communication, leadership, and public speaking. His articles have been published on CIOUPdate.com, Linux.com and OSNews.com. He has also been quoted in US News and World Report, Consultants News (a Kennedy Publication), and Infoworld.

He has provided training services to a large training and consulting firm, where he was singled out as one of their top performers.

He is a member of CAPS (Canadian Association of Professional Speakers) and sits on the board of the Montreal chapter, where he handles communication between the board and the members.
